MdME is delighted to announce that it has welcomed two colleagues to its partnership.
The new partners and their principal areas of practice are:
Carlos Eduardo Coelho – Carlos is a corporate lawyer, qualified to practice in Macau and Portugal, with a strong focus on the insurance sector. He advises corporations and insurance sector players on a broad variety of corporate matters, including financial and operational restructurings (merger, divestures, recapitalization), and regulatory compliance matters. Carlos has also been particularly active in a wide range of M&A transactions, including private company acquisitions, disposals and spin-offs, as well as in advising gaming companies in Macau and across Asia Pacific.. Alongside its corporate and gaming related work, Carlos will lead the firm’s insurance sector practice.
Fátima Dermawan – Fátima is a trilingual dispute resolution lawyer, qualified to practice in Macau, Portugal and New York, who represents both domestic and multinational companies in a broad range of litigation matters, with a focus on high-stakes civil and commercial disputes and arbitration. She acts at various court levels in a wide variety of matters, including general commercial and contractual disputes, securities and regulatory matters, property, construction, and land resumption litigation. Aside from litigation work, Fátima has been actively developing her practice in arbitration, having handled a range of commercial arbitration cases.
With the appointments of Carlos and Fátima, MdME will further grow and deepen its expertise in the insurance sector as well as in the field of alternative dispute resolution.
