MdME announced today that António Tam, former in-house legal adviser to the Macau Monetary Authority, has joined the firm as a senior associate in the Macau office. António started his career in Macau at MdME and returns to the firm after 5 years working for the financial sector regulator.

António has ample experience representing banks, insurance companies, financial assets exchanges, fund managers, intermediaries, payment providers, and wealth management firms in a broad range of licensing and regulatory matters, both on the advisory and infringement side.
He has received his law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and his master's in international business law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau. He is also a part-time lecturer and Ph.D. candidate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau; his research mainly focuses on trust, investment funds, and insurance law.
